On our skiing holidays that until this time, we had selected the near locations except Bansko. We were scaring from the fog of Erciyes Ski Resort and we did not want to take risk, until this christmas.

While entering the year 2019, we turned the holidays to opportunity and we have planned a ski tour and did not regret.

Hotel Ibis: It’s far from the city center and located on the main road. It is located next the Novotel and there is taxi point in front of it. However if you want to go to the city center, by paying a 20 TL taxi fee you can go to center. You can eat the breakfast and dinner in hotel.

Novotel: Breakfast and dinner was included the price and we were glad from the hotel. Both rooms were wide and variety of meals were great, this made us glad actually. Due to stay tired of all day skiing over the snow tracks, we did not want another action in hotel after the dinner. From this angle, it was very enough for us. When we go to Erciyes again, our hotel address is clear obviously.

Holiday Inn: There are a cafe/bar to have a good time in this hotel that is located in the center of Kayseri. Additionally, in this hotel, you can have your breakfast and dinner. It was in the city center and this was an advantage but still not a reason for preference.

Radisson Blu: If you want a bit more quality, this is a hotel that you can think like it is in the city center. However, our advice for you: do not pay that big money to this hotel and stay in the Erciyes. There is Forum Kayseri next to it.

Additionally, all of these hotels have transport services to the Erciyes Ski Resort. You can use these services as from 9 a.m and its fee is pretty affordable. For the going and back for Novotel, this price was 35 TL. If you want to go with the taxi, one way price to pay is 100 TL. If the person numbers not much, this option is not advantageous.

Erciyes Ski Resort, that one of the most important values for Kayseri, can be reached from a double lane easy mountain road within 20 minutes.

Erciyes Ski Resort hosted the first big event in its history in 2015. Since then, the Erciyes Ski Resort has started to make a name for itself and to attract participants from abroad to its tracks. Erciyes Ski Center is suitable for everyone with its different slopes of different lengths and difficulties. There are 33 different ski tracks with a total length of 102 km in Erciyes Ski Resort. Thus, you never feel the intensity of the ski resort.

Erciyes, as you hear always, has 4 gates named Hacılar, Develi, Tekir and Hisarcık. If you want, through these gates you can reach to Hisarcık directly with your private car. However if you have some needs like ski equipment renting or cabinet, you can prefer the Tekir Kapı (gate) entry that includes Gondol. You can eat your sausage & bread and warm up under the sunny weather in the cafes of Tekir gate and the Hisarcık gate locations. Meatballs & Bread and Sausage & Bread price 20 TL, water 2.5 TL, soda, tea and other beverages are 5 TL. When it’s compared to the cafes in other ski resorts, we can say that it is quite cheap. This is one of the pluses of being under the protection of the state, according to us. There is no high prices.

Erciyes Ski Center is not only suitable for ski lovers. If you want to sled or walk in the snow, there are separate sections from the ski tracks for you. You can spend time on the tracks by renting a sled.

Erciyes Ski Resort tracks take a good place in first ranks among the best ski tracks in Turkey. We can say that the beginner tracks are even better than Bansko. Anyone, who doesn’t know even how to ski, can make progress by working 4-day-focused here.

There are snow makers in the tracks that located in the Tekir Gate and Keven tracks. This, in spite of the possibility of having a bad season, relaxes us, so ski lovers.

By using the Gondola at every morning about 10 a.m we made a direct pass to the Hisarcık gate. There are chairlifts leading to Hacilar, Divan and Keven tracks. On the first day, we walked about the Keven which has a red live due to tiredness. The ski lift to Keven takes about 10 minutes and the ski school students usually do lesson here. That’s why in this charlift ther may be a long queue.

Track of Divan is a 3 km black track. You do not even understant how you get speed here in this track. This track is pretty wide and you reach to the summit within a 15 minute covered chair lift journey. If the chairlift was not covered, probably no one could go to that track on that cold weather with that long timed climbing. However, you should definitely see the track. I am sure that you will really have fun while getting down from that track. Occasionally we came up to the ices and stones. We should warn that you need to be careful and pay attention to this track. The most critical point here: if you are at the level of the snowplough, definitely do not climb this track, because you can not get down  During the 3 days of skiing, we witnessed 2 people getting injured on this track every day.

After you got down from the Gondol, you will turn left and walk across the road, you will see the station here.Thus you can reach the Zümrüt Track (Emerald Track) through this station. Even though we were getting on it in a sunny weather, the wind of Zümrüt Tepe (Emerald Hill) were almost frozing us on the chairlift. You can reach the top of this track in about 10 minutes. When you land, do not start to do skiing immediately. Look at the beauty of your surroundings, you will see the skirts of the mountain at one of the top spots of Erciyes. Although the Emerald track is a red, so a middle level, track, it has two very steep descents. Again, we recommend that those, who are at the level of snowplough, should stay away from here.

Like in Davraz and Erzurum, in also Erciyes Ski Resort there are affordable ski-pass prices. Seasonal & Unlimited ski – pass price per person 500 TL. It is also possible to purchase for different climbing numbers. You can look at the image below for the other details.

Additionally, you can do also night-ski in Erciyes. By 05:00 pm, the night-ski is getting started and price is 25 TL per person. You can ski in the track that Gondol in Tekir gate also goes on it.

The distance between Kayseri Erkilet airport and Erciyes ski resort is approximately 30 km. We recommend that you should arrange your transfer from your hotel for this route before you go. You can also choose Cappadocia Airport as an alternative to Kayseri Erkilet Airport. The distance between Erciyes and Cappadocia is 70 km.

When you enter on the Tekir Gate direection, you will see a big car park. And in front on this car park, there are shops that you can buy renting service from them. Due to we have our own ski equipment, we just rented the cabinet here. However “Kartanesi Kayak” was amazing and we recommend they to you because they were smiling always, they care about us, never left us without tea and we had great conversations with them.
